UNITED STATES: YouTube sensation and pro boxer Jake Paul is going to fight against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match. Both Jake and Tyron confirmed this news on their respective social media handles that they are going to fight each other at 190lbs. The event is scheduled to take place on August 28.
Jake has a whopping 20.4 million subscribers on YouTube. The YouTuber made his professional boxing debut against another YouTuber Aneson Gib last year on January 31. In his 2nd fight, he destroyed former professional basketball player Nate Robinson. Along with this, he also fought against former Bellator and ONE Welterweight Champion Ben Askren in his last fight.
In the last 12 months, Jake has earned $1,70,91,200(14 million euro) and is just behind Anthony Joshua and Canelo Alvarez.
The rift between Jake and Tyron happened during the fight between Ben Askren and the YouTuber. Tyron was supporting his teammate Ben Askren in the fight and he went to see Jake Paul in the locker room backstage. This resulted in a heated argument with Jake and J’Leon Love.
In a recent interview, Tyron said, “This is the easiest fight if my career and biggest purse of my career all in one night. Basically, they brought me in to take out the trash. Can’t wait to shut him up. This is getting done for the culture, the whole MMA/Boxing community, to rid this guy of combat sports.”
Responding to this, Jake tweeted, “Tyron’s a seasoned striker who has fought the best MMA fighters in the world but will be dropped by a disney teen star in 2 rounds”. Interestingly, Jake has been associated with Disney when he was 18 years old on a show called ‘Bizaardvark’.

Tyron is one of the best strikers of UFC and has dominated the Welterweight division before losing his title against current champion Kamaru Usman. On the other hand, Jake started his pro boxing career last year. However, according to the betting odds, Jake is the favorite in this fight against Tyron (Tyron Woodley +120 and Jake Paul -150).
This fight is going to be the toughest fight of Jake’s career. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to continue his winning streak or will Tyron end his career once and for all.
