AUSTRALIA: Australia trounced South Africa by an innings and 182 runs on Thursday in the second Test to clinch an unbeatable 2-0 series lead. 

Australia declared their first innings at 575/8, taking a 386-run lead. In the first innings, South Africa was bowled out for 189, giving Cameron Green his first five-wicket haul.

The Proteas surrendered on Day 4 after starting play at 15/1, and they were bowled out for 204.

After winning the series, Australia cemented their position atop the ICC World Test Championship points table.

Following Australia’s victory against South Africa in the second Test, the ICC World Test Championship point standings have been amended as follows:

Australia has a win percentage of 78.57 and is still in first place in the points standings. They will further boost their victory percentage if they triumph over South Africa in the third and final Test.

India is in second place after winning the series against Bangladesh 2-0 last week. They have a win percentage of 58.93 as they prepare for a four-match Test series against Australia at home next year.

If India wins three of the four games, they will be guaranteed a place in the World Test Championship finals.

Sri Lanka is now in third place with a win percentage of 53.3, while South Africa is in fourth place with a win percentage of 50.

After defeating Pakistan 3-0, England has moved up to fifth place in the standings. England has a winning percentage of 46.97.

West Indies are sixth in the standings with a win percentage of 40.91.

Pakistan and New Zealand, who are currently playing each other in the first Test of a two-match series in Karachi, are ranked seventh and eighth, with win percentages of 38.89 and 25.93, respectively.

Bangladesh is at the bottom of the points table with a win percentage of 11.11.
