UNITED STATES: Samaritan lands as the latest Amazon Prime Video film, which portrays Sylvester Stallone as a veteran superhero. The streaming behemoth recently launched the trailer of the forthcoming action venture. The film also stars Javon Walton as a teen who uncovers that Stallone is the eponymous protagonist.

The trailer stars Sylvester Stallone fighting the criminals in a badass manner

The official video featured Sylvester Stallone as a superhero who had abandoned his heroic days. The plot concept implies that the world’s greatest hero has vanished, or perhaps he died 25 years ago. Samaritan has now become a phantom to everyone in the Granite city where violence erupts on the streets.

The feature also adds Javon Walton as a teenager who discovers that Stallone is none other than the Samaritan, a super-powered vigilante who used to fight crime in his early days. Walton is well-known for his work in Euphoria, which suggests that his role in the film will be pivotal and serve as a turning moment for Stallone’s character.

The trailer begins with Sylvester Stallone collecting junk and then cuts to black, revealing him unleashing his superpowers on criminals. Furthermore, Walton’s figure is shown reading a book made up of newspaper cut-outs. In the following scene, he watches Stallone exercising his talents, establishing him as the only person aware of the Samaritan.

Samaritan is produced under the banner of Stallone’s production company Balboa Productions. Julius Avery added his directorial vision to the film while Bragi F. Schut penned the script. The production company earlier developed Rambo: Last Blood released in 2019, and now adds the superhero feature as another significant venture in its repertoire.

The film stars Sylvester Stallone in the forefront while adding Javon Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco, Moises Arias, and Deacon Randle in pivotal roles. The superhero venture is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on August 26.
