UNITED STATES: WhatsApp now allows its users to use the same account on up to four phones simultaneously. The feature, which is called “One WhatsApp account, now across multiple phones,” has been long-awaited by many users who own more than one phone and want to use the same WhatsApp account on all of them.

Previously, the multi-device feature allowed users to access the app from browsers, computers, or Android tablets alongside their primary phone. However, now users can log in to their other phones as well, with a limit of four devices.

Announcing the new feature, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, said, “Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones.”

The new feature will be particularly useful for small businesses, as multiple employees can send and receive messages from the same business number on different phones. WhatsApp sees this as a valuable feature for businesses, especially those with limited resources or remote teams.

Moreover, messages sent and received on any of the linked phones will be synced across all devices for up to a year. This means that even if your primary phone is switched off, you can still access your messages on other phones. Additionally, all chats, media, and calls will be end-to-end encrypted on every phone, ensuring users’ privacy and security.

To use the new feature, users need to tap on the “link to existing account” option during setup instead of entering their phone number and logging in as usual. They will then see a QR code that can be scanned by their primary phone through the “link a device” option in settings, and they will be logged in to the second phone.

The feature is available on both for Android and iOS and is already rolling out to users worldwide. It will be available for all users in the coming weeks.

In conclusion, the new feature is a game-changer for the users who own multiple devices and want to use the same account on all of them. With this update, WhatsApp is catering to the needs of its users, making the messaging platform more versatile and user-friendly.
