UNITED STATES: In its relentless pursuit of enhancing the user experience, WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform owned by Meta, has unveiled two groundbreaking features that are poised to reshape the way users communicate and engage with one another.

The introduction of AI-generated stickers and screen sharing advancements are set to elevate the platform’s capabilities to new heights.

AI stickers

WhatsApp has started rolling out an innovative feature that allows users to create and share AI-generated stickers. This exciting development is currently accessible exclusively to Android beta testers, with the update version 2.23.17.8 heralding this transformative change. Users can now find a “Create” button nestled within the sticker tab’s keyboard, offering them the ability to bring AI-powered creativity into their conversations.

The functionality is elegantly simple: when users select the “Create” option, they are prompted to input a description that serves as the foundation for the sticker generation process.

Drawing upon the power of artificial intelligence, WhatsApp then presents a curated collection of stickers aligned with the description. Users have the freedom to handpick the perfect sticker to inject personalized flair into their discussions.

However, what distinguishes this feature is the palpable sense of control granted to users. If they encounter a sticker that is deemed inappropriate or harmful, they can promptly report it to Meta for resolution.

Moreover, the AI-generated stickers are designed to be easily recognizable, ensuring that recipients can discern when a sticker has been created through Meta’s AI technology.

While this feature is currently in the hands of beta testers, its imminent release to a wider user base is eagerly anticipated. WhatsApp’s commitment to innovation and user empowerment is evidently at the forefront of this development.

Screen Sharing reimagined

Adding another layer of dynamism to its video call capabilities, WhatsApp has officially unveiled its screen sharing feature to users worldwide. Following an extensive beta testing phase, the platform now allows individuals to seamlessly share their phone and PC screens during video calls. This innovation is poised to revolutionize the way users collaborate, present ideas, and connect with their peers.

The screen sharing functionality is equipped with robust security measures that ensure user privacy remains sacrosanct. WhatsApp has meticulously crafted safeguards to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.

While users revel in the power to share their screens, certain content types are ineligible for sharing, underscoring WhatsApp’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security.

Furthermore, the addition of a landscape mode injects a fresh dimension into the video call experience. Departing from the conventional portrait mode, landscape mode offers participants a broader perspective, allowing them to comfortably view multiple individuals on the screen simultaneously. This enhancement caters to the modern need for seamless and engaging virtual interactions.
