WEST INDIES: West Indies defeats Australia by 4 wickets to level the 3 matches ODI series. The ODI series is now leveled at 1-1 and the final ODI match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on July 27.
In this 2nd ODI after winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first. Josh Phillipe and Ben McDermott were the Australian openers. Australia started their innings pretty badly as they lost 6 wickets after scoring just 45 runs in 12.4 overs. Four out of six Australian top-order batsmen failed to score in double digits. For West Indies, Akeal Hosein was the one who broke the spine of the Australian batting order.
Matthew Wade and Mitchell Starc stitched up a 51 run partnership to help Australia recover from this collapse. Starc got out after scoring 19 runs and Australia was 96/7 after Starc’s departure. Matthew Wade played well for his 36 runs off 68 balls but he got out on a beautiful delivery of Alzarri Joseph and after his wicket, Australia was struggling at 128/8 after 38.1 overs.
After that Adam Zampa and Wes Agar stitched up a 59 run partnership for the 9th wicket to help Australia reach a decent total in this ODI match. Adam Zampa scored 36 off 62 balls which included 4 fours whereas Wes Agar played brilliantly for his 41 runs off 36 deliveries which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Australia was bowled out for 187 runs after 47.1 overs. For West Indies Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph each took 3 wickets while Sheldon Cottrell took 2 wickets and Haden Walsh and Jason Holder took 1 wicket each.

West Indies had to score 188 runs in 50 overs to win this 2nd ODI match. West Indies also didn’t have a good start as they were 11/2 after 3 overs and 47/3 after 8.3 overs. West Indian opener Shai Hope played well for his 38 runs off 43 deliveries. After Shai Hope got out, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard came out to bat. Pollard couldn’t contribute much as he got out of a beautiful delivery bowled by Adam Zampa.
After that Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder scored half-centuries to make the chase comfortable for West Indies in this 2nd ODI. Pooran scored 59 runs off 75 deliveries which included 2 fours and 2 sixes whereas Jason Holder scored 52 off 69 deliveries which included 5 fours and 1 six. West Indies won the match by 4 wickets in 38 overs. For Australia Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets, Adam Zampa took 2 wickets and Ashton Turner took 1 wicket.
