UNITED STATES: In a dazzling revelation, Vogue announced the theme for the much-anticipated 2024 Met Gala, set to take place on May 6 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Brace yourselves for ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ a theme that promises to transport attendees through 400 years of fashion history.
The Costume Institute’s permanent collection will contribute 250 iconic pieces, ranging from a 17th-century English Elizabethan-era bodice to contemporary acquisitions by esteemed designers such as Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney, and Conner Ives. The core exhibit guarantees a mesmerizing journey through the evolution of style.
The red carpet affair, known for its star-studded guest list, will feature celebrity co-chairs yet to be revealed. Last year’s theme, ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,’ paid tribute to the late Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld.
