INDIA: Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer Vikram Vedha is about to get a world digital premiere release on Jio Cinema. The digital premiere of Vikram Vedha is locked for release on May 12, 2023. Alongside, 400 million of its users will be able to watch the film for free.
The Hrithik and Saif starrer remake debuted at the big screens on September, 2022. Following the theatre release, the Pushkar-Gayatri’s directorial film took a long time for its arrival on digital screens. Now, the wait is over.
Interestingly, it is the biggest digital launch for any movie so far, as the Jio streaming service has the capacity to entertain so many viewers at the same time. Ahead of the action-thriller’s mega OTT release, Hrithik Roshan made the official announcement on his Twitter handle.
He wrote, “Finally! It’s HERE! #VikramVedha streaming from 12th May only on @JioCinema. #VikramVedhaOnJioCinema #SaifAliKhan @PushkarGayatri.”
In a media interaction, Hrithik talking about the release, said, “After a 7-month wait, I’m overjoyed to learn that Vikram Vedha will be available on JioCinema on May 12, 2023. This nearly feels like a movie premiere, and I’m experiencing pre-release jitters all over again.
He added, “We are delighted for fans to watch Vikram Vedha not only in Hindi but also in Marathi and Bengali, and that too without any membership, for free.”
“It’s an intriguing launch because Vikram Vedha is the first in a series of 100 titles that will be hosted on the streaming site. With Jio Cinema now having an audience of 400 million, that makes the scale of Vikram Vedha’s OTT launch an unprecedented event,” he added.
Besides the Hindi release, the movie will also be available to stream in Marathi and Bengali languages. The Bollywood film is a remake of the same-named 2017 Tamil film, which featured R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.
