INDIA: The most talented, versatile and dynamic actor in the Tamil film industry, Chiyaan Vikram, left no stone unturned in his latest blockbuster release Ponniyin Selvan 2. He upgraded the scale of acting alongside proving his mettle to the world yet again with the grandeur magnum opus.
Vikram suffers rib injury
The actor, days after the release of the Mani Ratnam film, joined back the sets of his upcoming Tamil film Thangalaan. However, unpredictably during the ongoing rehearsals, he suffered an injury on his rib, resulting in a serious fracture.
The actor’s team opted to the social media handle to announce the update on Vikram’s health and wrote, “Thank you for all the love and appreciation Aditha Karikalan aka Chiyaan Vikram has received and for the astounding response to PS2 from all over the world. Chiyaan sustained an injury during rehearsals resulting in a broken rib, due to which he will not be able to join his Thangalaan unit for a short while. He thanks everyone for your love and promises to be back on his feet and rocking at the earliest.”
The upcoming movie, Thangalaan, is directed by Pa Ranjith, a maiden collaboration with Vikram and the director. The upcoming movie will feature Chiyaan as the leader of a small tribe, performing high-octane acting sequences.
In the last month, Ranjith shared a new poster as well as made a video of Thangalaan during Vikram’s birthday. Ranjith wished, “Happy birthday to my #Thangalaan, @chiyaan sir. Presenting you a slice of flesh, a grand making visual video of Thangalaan as our humble tribute to Chiyaan.”
Thangalaan is based on the actual events that occurred in the Kolar Gold Factory in Karnataka between 1870 to 1940. The movie demanded a dramatic physical transformation from Vikram, which he underwent. The actor lost weight and shed his muscles for his character.
