‘Veer Savarkar’ Biopic Trailer: Randeep Hooda Undergoes Phenomenal Transformation

INDIA: The much-awaited trailer of Randeep Hooda’s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The most hardworking and dedicated actor in Bollywood, Randeep Hooda, yet again underwent a shocking body transformation. The Sarabjit actor lost 26 kgs to play the role of Swatantrya Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. 

He is currently working on the Veer Savarkar biopic, which is produced by Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan and Yogesh Rahar. Besides this, Randeep himself is bankrolling the film and debuting as a director.

Moreover, Randeep Hooda, along with Utkarsh Naithani, is the director and co-writer of the film. Recently, the teaser of the film was launched on the occasion of Savarkar’s 140th birth anniversary.

Randeep Hooda dropped a glimpse of the film, and the teaser opens with the actor walking inside jail premises as he says, “The struggle for freedom went on for 90 years, but only a few fought this war. The rest were hungry for power.”

The first look of Hooda was so similar to the actual appearance of Veer Savarkar that netizens went amazed. The Highway actor was so into the role of the patriot that he left no stone unturned to make a resemblance with his character. 

Film Producer Anand Pandit revealed that Randeep was and still is deeply invested in the character. He further stated that the actor would not leave any stone unturned in order to portray it on screen.

According to the producer, the actor ate only one khajoor (dates) and one glass of milk for four months till the shoot was over. In addition, Randeep shaved off his hair for the role too.

Earlier, Hooda underwent the same drastic weight loss for the film Sarabjit. Reportedly, for that movie, he lost around 18 kilos in just 28 days for his role. The willpower of the actor is highly appreciated by cinephiles, and this made him such a big star. 

Talking about the biopic, the movie is about to finish, and the makers are in the last stage of completion. The movie is scheduled to hit the theaters later this year.
