INDIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Uttarakhand’s first Vande Bharat train. The route will connect Delhi to Dehradun, which will cover the distance in four hours and forty-five minutes.
The express train will be operational from May 29. By far, Dehradun Jan Shatabdi Express was the fastest train on the route, taking a time of five hours. Now the route will have an alternative commercial train option.
Reportedly, this is the first Vande Bharat train for Uttarakhand and the sixth for the national capital. Earlier, Delhi got connected with these semi-high-speed trains with Ajmer, Varanasi, Katra, Bhopal, and Amb Andaura.
Now, on the launch of the new semi-speed train, PM Modi said, “Today, the whole world is seeing India with great expectations. People from across the world want to explore India, understand India, and this becomes a great opportunity for a state as beautiful as Uttarakhand. The Vande Bharat Train will contribute well in the tourism sector of the State.”
As per IRCTC’s statement, the newly launched train will operate six days a week, except Wednesday. The timings are as below:
The departure from Dehradun will be from 07:00 am, which will reach Delhi’s Anand Vihar terminal at 11:45 am, whereas it will depart from Anand Vihar at 05:50 pm and arrive at Dehradun by 10:35 pm. The stoppages would be in Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee, and Haridwar.
From Delhi to Dehradun, an executive chair car ticket would cost ₹1,890 rupees, while an AC chair seat will cost ₹1,065 rupees.
Now, as per (PMO’s) official release, the train is outfitted with top-notch amenities that will usher in a new era of relaxing travel, especially for tourists to the state.
