INDIA: The much-awaited film Maamannan got a trailer release date locked. The movie features Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vadivelu. Music Composer AR Rahman has announced the release date of Maamannan’s trailer alongside a new poster from the film.
He wrote, “The Trailer of #MAAMANNAN will be out on the 16th of JUNE!”
As per the tweet, the trailer will be released on June 16. Udhayanidhi Stalin is depicted in the visual running beside a pack of dogs of the native sighthound breed found only in Tamil Nadu.
In Maari Selvaraj’s debut movie, Pariyerum Perumal, a dog of the same breed played a significant symbolic role. Vadivelu is also visible on the poster in the background.
Keerthy Suresh also unveiled a new poster fueling the anticipation of Maamannan. The actress tweeted, “Let the countdown begin! #MAAMANNAN Trailer releasing tomorrow at 6 PM.”
The poster depicts Udhayanidhi Stalin riding a motorbike with Keerthy Suresh sitting in the back of the vehicle. The actress is seen raising the and whereas Stalin with an intense look on his face.
In the background, Fahadh Faasil, Vadivelu and Udhayanidhi Stalin are also illustrated in the poster. The burning woods and the grey tone of the visual sets the thriller atmosphere.
Talking about his character, Maari Selvaraj confirmed that it was inspired by Esaki from Kamal Haasan’s Thevar Magan. What if Esaki becomes king, Selvaraj wondered? He went on to say that’s how he pictured this character.
Maamannan also features Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. The film has listed the stories of these four characters. If reports are to be believed, Fahadh will be playing the antagonist in the film.
The release date of the film is still awaited; reports suggest that the release date might be unveiled along with the trailer.
