AFGHANISTAN. Baghlan: In a gunmen attack on the Baghlan University bus in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan, a student and the driver were killed and six others were wounded.
The bus was carrying Baghlan University teachers and students in the outskirts of the Pul-e-Khumri city on Tuesday morning, police said.
“The bus was carrying about 25 lecturers and students,” officials said. Baghlan police blamed the Taliban for the attack but the group has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Rockets hitting the bus
Security sources in Baghlan confirmed that the bus was hit by a rocket. Jawid Basharat, the spokesman for Baghlan Police, said that the attack was carried by the Taliban group.
Baghlan is one of the most insecure provinces of Afghanistan, where the Taliban has a massive presence. Their attacks have moved the province towards the edge.
Meanwhile, in yesterday’s magnetic bomb blast in a mini-bus of the Telecommunication and Information Ministry of Afghanistan in Kabul, four people were killed and 16 others wounded. Among them, a pregnant mother, an employee of the Ministry of Education, with her 3-year-old child.
