INDIA: Thankfully, the world is now getting over the fear of COVID-19 as more and more people are now getting vaccinated and starting to get back to normal lives. Also, a large number of travelers are now getting out and destinations are again seeing crowds. But still, it is no time to take things granted for and you need to be as vigilant as you were during the pandemic. And this applies to travelers as well. Traveling these days will mean a lot more formalities for you to go through. All the stations and airports are asking for extra health declarations during departures and at arrival, and if traveling internationally, be ready to give out extra information depending on the country you are visiting. You may also have to get yourself medically checked, complete a travel risk assessment, undergo a COVID-19 test, and provide information on your past visits.

Be ready to quarantine

Yes, quarantine measures are still in place at many destinations and some countries, so be ready to go into mandatory quarantine. Also, you might have to go into quarantine on your return.

If traveling internationally, check which countries have new rules in place to combat COVID-19 for visas. They might ask for financial guarantees to ensure travelers visiting their country have a level of cover to pay any potential medical costs. So it is always advisable to buy travel insurance with pandemic riders. Always carry a letter agreeing that any required medical treatment will be paid by you if upon arrival you have show symptoms of COVID-19.

Plan for a risk-free and fun filled holiday

You are planning to go on a holiday to enjoy and it should be packed with fun and not stress. So the better informed and prepared you are, the more fun you’ll have. Hence, you should take every measure possible in place to avoid putting yourself and others at risk of getting COVID-19.

And in the end, never forget the basic travel tips:

Maintain social distancing.

Wear a face mask and carry a hand sanitiser

Comply with rules and any customs in the country that you’re visiting

Try going out in a self-driven car rather than flying, taking a train or bus to your next local destination

Use contactless reservations and check-in using contactless payment

Avoid large crowds.
