TJ Dillashaw Defeats Cory Sandhagen Via Split Decision In UFC Vegas 32

Former UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said that according to him Cory Sandhagen won this fight because of the damage he did to TJ Dillashaw in this fight.

UNITED STATES: TJ Dillashaw is back. TJ Dillashaw defeats Cory Sandhagen by split decision in UFC Vegas 32 which was held at UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.


TJ Dillashaw was handed a 2-year ban for testing positive for EPO (Recombinant Human Erythropoietin). He received this two-year ban from USADA. This was his comeback fight after he served his punishment. TJ Dillashaw has a record of 17-4 in his professional career whereas Cory Sanhagen has a record of 14-2 in his professional career.
This Main event fight was nothing short of a firework. Both fighters fought like true champions. In this Fight, Cory Sandhagen showed his amazing slick striking whereas TJ Dillashaw dominated Cory on the ground.

In the very first round of this fight, Cory did some serious damage to Dillashaw. Dillashaw got a nasty cut just beside his right eye in the very first round and Dillashaw also injured his knee while trying a kick on Sandhagen. Sandhagen out-landed Dillashaw 128 to 110 in significant strikes but Dillashaw had over two minutes of control time in round 1 and he outlanded Sandhagen in Round 3.

The fight was scored evenly before the start of the 5th round. Round 1 and 3 was given to Dillashaw whereas round 2 and 4 were given to Sandhagen. The fifth round was pretty close and could’ve gone either way but Dillashaw did enough to get the split decision victory. After the fight, Dillashaw said that he would love to fight the winner of current Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and former Bantamweight champion Petr Yan but if that fight doesn’t happen anytime soon he would love to fight any of the top 5 bantamweights.
