UNITED STATES: Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth chapter of the God of Thunder’s Marvel Cinematic Universe odyssey. Since the trailer’s debut, the film has sparked a lot of interest, most of which can be attributed to Gorr the God butcher’s involvement. According to the film’s box office success, the hype looks to be deserved.
The Chris Hemsworth starrer approaches the total ₹70 crores mark and has India’s fifth-highest opening for a Hollywood film. Following a strong start at the box office, Academy Award winner Taika Waititi’s direction expands on the Space Viking’s adventure.
Despite Monday, God of Thunder performs well at the box office
According to the reports from Box Office India, the first day of the Space Vikings saga saw a solid start, but Friday saw a significant decline, however, the weekend brought in a total of ₹64 crores. The Chris Hemsworth-starrer earned ₹5.25 crores on its first Monday, for a total estimated revenue of ₹70 crores.
Box Office India states that the Chris Hemsworth-starring movie struggles to generate profits compared to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The second instalment of The Master of Mystics Arts made almost ₹30 crores in India on its opening day and ₹120 crores in less than two weeks.
The success of Doctor Strange 2 at the box office was greatly influenced by Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie had Doctor Strange as its main character, and the finale also featured the trailer, which raised the bar. The Thor fandom, however, has a vast gap since the character’s previous appearance in Avengers: End Game.
