INDIA. Mumbai: “Although we cannot see it, an air does exist in the atmosphere. Similarly, the work of any organization continues to guide society, although it may not be very apparent. As such the office bearers should go on working since the work generates influence which recognizes the organization, Vasant Munde, President of the Maharashtra Rajya Patrakar Sangh (MRPS), a state-level body of the working journalists said.
Addressing a meeting organized in MRPS’s Aurangabad divisional office,in Marathwada region, to review the work of the presidents of MRPS’ different divisions and districts, Munde urged the office bearers to become more socially oriented. MRPS state General Secretary Vishwas Arote was present on the dais in the program.
A meeting began by offering floral tributes to the Father of Marathi journalism Acharya Balshastri Jambhekar and by paying homage to the journalists who became victims of the coronavirus in the recent past.
In his speech, Munde said that nearly 106 journalists passed away in the COVID-19 pandemic in the last one and half years. But the government did not give compensation to any of them. However, the MRPS extended immediate help to the affected families. The MRPS is the only journalists’ body that always stood behind the journalists. As such it is essential to maintain a liaison with the public while working, to ensure that the MRPS reaches out to a large number of people. Hence, the camps, meetings should be organized in different divisions and districts involving the public, by the MRPS.
“Involve senior journalists in the districts, undertake socially useful programs with their guidance. So that more people will be connected and the MRPS will become stronger. I am telling you this with going by my own experience. I joined this organization as a City secretary 20 years back. Today I am the state president of the MRPS. In the long journey, I ensured that the organization grows. Eventually, I too grew in stature and size. As such devote yourself to work”, Munde appealed to the office-bearers.
In the function, MRPS Nashik President Dilip Kothavade was felicitated by Munde for setting a world record of donating blood 127 times. The MRPS is proud to have a dedicated office-bearer like you, Munde said.
In his introductory speech, Vishwas Arote said that “a discipline is important while doing organizational work. That is the reason certain decisions hurt the emotions of someone or another. As such the affected people should keep in mind that any decision made doesn’t belong to any particular individual in the organization. The decisions are taken by the core committee in keeping with the larger interest of the organization and nobody is bigger than the organization. We are proceeding with this objective. That is the reason the MRPS is progressing under the leadership of Munde”, he added.
