UNITED STATES: HBO’s The Last of Us series has officially found the actors for Henry and Sam. The two characters serve a major part in the video game storyline.
The Last of Us is a widely popular video game series that debuted in 2013. Naughty Dog developed the action-adventure game for Play Station 3. The story follows Joel’s quest in a zombie-apocalyptic world, where he is entrusted with navigating a girl named Ellie, who has immunity to the infection.
The Last of Us received widespread acclaim from critics and players alike; it was also remastered for the Play Station 4, and Naughty Dog recently revealed a remastered version for the Play Station 5. Earlier this year, the PC version was also announced. The first instalment also generated a sequel, “The Last of Us Part 2,” which continued the storyline from its predecessor.
Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard have been added to the cast of The Last of Us
HBO announced the series adaption of the iconic video game franchise in March 2020. The casting of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie has been confirmed. Previously, the studio provided the first look at the show, which features both stars.
The actors for the roles of Henry and Sam have already been confirmed. Lamar Johnson will play Henry in the series. The actor is popular for his role in the 2018 film The Hate U Give. Sam, Henry’s younger brother, will be played by Keivonn Woodard.
The show’s storyline will be presented in a slightly different way. Joel and Elie encounter Henry and Sam in Pittsburg in the game. The HBO series will see the main duo meeting both characters in Kansas City. In the game, the brothers share a tragic story; it is unknown whether the series version would follow the same storyline. Based on such popular source material, the next HBO series is already generating a lot of buzz.
The Last of Us became a smash phenomenon, earning the title of best-selling video game in 2018. The game snagged thirteen nods, out of which it scored ten awards, including the most prestigious title, Game of the Year.
