‘The Kerala Story’ Reigns at the Box Office: Adah Sharma’s Film Enters Rs 200cr Club

INDIA: The Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story continues to embark on its dream run since its debut. Given the box office triumph of Sudipto Sen’s directorial film, it continues to act as a magnet factor for theatres.

Now, the film has achieved a new milestone as it entered its third week with a bang. As per box office reports and trade analysts, the film smashed all the box office records and entered the Rs 200 crore club.

In just two weeks, the film received a good response from moviegoers and was applauded by cinephiles.

The movie featured Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani in pivotal roles. The direction of the movie is given by Sudipto Sen and bankrolled by Vipul Shah.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh unveiled the box office numbers. He tweeted, “#TheKeralaStory cruises past ₹ 200 cr mark… Achieves ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER status… [Week 3] Fri 6.60 cr, Sat 9.15 cr, Sun 11.50 cr, Mon 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 203.47 cr. #India biz. Nett BOC. #Boxoffice.”

The production house Sunshine Pictures confirmed that The Kerala Story touched Rs 200 crore nett at the domestic box office. The movie, which was made at a very minimum cost, surpassed many big-budget movie collections.

According to Taran Adarsh, the film has collected a nett box office collection of Rs 206.97 crore. In the third weekend, The Kerala Story bagged Rs 6.60 crore on Friday, Rs 9.15 crore on Saturday, Rs 11.50 crore on Sunday, Rs 4.50 crore on Monday and Rs 3.50 crore on Tuesday.

Since the trailer release, The Kerala Story has become a centre of controversy, with some demanding a ban on the film. Earlier, the movie was banned in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. However, SC uplifted the ban from Bengal and gave a green signal to the film screening. 

Despite the ban and boycott calls, the Adah Sharma film continues to gather huge numbers at the box office.
