The Avery Burton Foundation To Participate In The Well Beings Tour

UNITED STATES. Henderson: The Avery Burton Foundation (ABF), a non-profit organization dedicated to serving those in need with mental health advocacy, outreach and educational resources, announced it has been invited to take part in the Well Beings Tour, Youth Mental Health: How You Can Help. 

The live virtual discussion event with Q&A will take place on Tuesday, January 12 at 6:00 p.m. PST and is presented by Vegas PBS and WETA.

“Our dedication to helping those in mental health crisis by removing the stigma through education and resources is what made this opportunity possible. I look forward to adding our voice to this important conversation,” said Reggie Burton, Founder and President of ABF.

Burton will join three mental health experts during the 90-minute event that will “work to demystify and destigmatize health concerns through story telling” according to Well Beings.

The writer of the book, “This is Depression,” his personal story about losing a son to depression and suicide, Burton is certified in Mental Health First Aid (MFHA) for Youth and Adults assisting youth. He has spoken on the topic at book events and in media interviews, including for the San Jose Mercury News and has been a guest on “Good Day LA” on Fox News 11 in Los Angeles. He will focus on offering tips and resources to students and families, including the role of Cultural Competence in therapeutics.

Founded in 2019, Avery Burton Foundation (ABF) offers outreach, education resources and MFHA tips to schools, colleges, students, families, businesses and organizations. Additionally, ABF provides scholarships to graduating high school students through the “Avery Burton Excellence in Academics and Sports” Scholarship. The deadline for the 2020-21 school year is January 30, 2021.
