INDIA: India snatched an easy victory over Zimbabwe and finished the group in the number one position in group 2 with 8 points. KL Rahul scored a half-century, while from the bowling department, Ashwin took three wickets, and Pandya and Shami shared two wickets each.

India will now face England in the semi-finals on Thursday, November 10, at Adelaide Oval.

Is something missing from the scorecard? How can we forget Suryakumar’s exceptional innings that actually helped India post an impressive total of 186?

Suryakumar Yadav is proving himself again and again; there is no doubt why he is the No. 1 T20 batsman in the world. India had been looking for this type of high-caliber player for a very long time.

Suryakumar has scored three half-centuries in five matches till now. He scored 51 against the Netherlands, 68 against South Africa, and 61 against Zimbabwe yesterday.

Suryakumar now becomes the second batsman and first Indian to score 1000 runs in T20 international cricket in a calendar year. This milestone was achieved by Suryakumar in yesterday’s match against Zimbabwe.

Suryakumar’s shot selection and ability to play all over the court make him so dangerous for the opponent team. He has scored 225 runs in five matches at an average of 75 and an attractive strike rate of almost 200.

He has achieved so much in such a short span of time that it is difficult to believe that he started off as a finisher, a 15-ball player, from Kolkata Knight Riders.

Suryakumar scored consistently for the Mumbai Indians before coming to the Indian team.

Many believe that he should have arrived at the Indian team earlier than this. He has played 67 innings for the Mumbai Indians and scored 2036 runs for them.

“Sweep shots. You wouldn’t anticipate someone to square sweep and lap sweep to fast bowlers. However, Surya uses these. We are aware of that. That is one of the reasons he works so well with other batters”. SuryaKumar’s teammate Ashwin said.

“If you look, the people who play the sweep and reverse sweep are the ones who counter spin effectively.” Therefore, it is impossible to strike the ball down the ground and expect to score sixes. “Surya’s hitting combined with down-the-ground shots is a fantastic combo,” he added.

Every Indian fan expects Suryakumar to continue his fantastic form. India is going to need him in the upcoming big semifinal.
