UNITED STATES: Mario fans, rejoice! Nintendo has dropped a new update regarding the highly awaited Super Mario Movie. The makers have already unveiled the voice actors for the upcoming film, and now the movie has received a new key visual featuring the iconic video game characters.
Since the movie’s announcement in 2018, it bagged massive response as the title brought together gaming and film enthusiasts. Plus, the movie is based on Mario, who has been a popular icon of mostly everyone’s childhood, which was sufficient enough to generate excitement among fans.
Nintendo revealed the first look poster of Super Mario Movie on Twitter
Super Mario, which is also known as Super Mario Bros, is a hit video game developed under the banner of Nintendo. Debuting in September 1985, Mario holds a nostalgic place among the majority of gamers. The game was a massive success at the time, which spawned the whole franchise centred on the iconic character.
The Nintendo of America Twitter handle unveiled the trailer release info with the poster reveal. The tweet read, ‘’Tune in at 1:05 p.m. PT on 10/6 for a #NintendoDirect: The Super Mario Bros. Movie presentation introducing the world premiere trailer for the upcoming film (no game information will be featured).’’
The key visual gave a proper look at all the video game characters. Mario is featured in the center, facing Peach’s castle. The iconic levitating hills from the game are also pictured in the image, and in the background, we also get a glimpse of cute Super Mushrooms. The picture is brimming with vibrant colors, providing a detailed look at the animation style of the studios.
The upcoming Nintendo Direct will feature a trailer for the Super Mario movie on Thursday (October 6, 2022). The event will begin at 1:05 pm PT/ 1:35 am IST. Nintendo Direct 2021 revealed the star cast for the film, including Chris Pratt as Super Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong. Charles Martinet, popular for being the voice of Mario in the game franchise is set to appear in a special role.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will direct the movie under Nintendo and IIlumination’s production banner. The film is set to hit theatres on April 7, 2023.
