UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Kolkata Knight Riders defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 4 wickets to win the Eliminator and Kolkata Knight Riders will now face Delhi Daredevils in the Qualifier-2 of IPL 2021. The winner of Qualifier-2 will face Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021 final. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and decided to bat first.
Virat Kohli and Devdutt Paddikal opened the batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Royal Challengers Bangalore was off to a good start as they were scoring boundaries and taking some quick singles as well. After the end of five overs, Royal Challengers Bangalore were 49/0. But just at the start of the last over of the mandatory powerplay, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the wicket of Devdutt Paddikal. Paddikal got out after scoring 21 runs off 18 deliveries which included 2 fours.
After the fall of Paddikal, Srikar Bharat joined Virat Kohli in the middle. Srikar Bharat failed to score at a decent strike rate and he got after scoring 9 runs off 16 deliveries. Royal Challengers Bangalore kept losing wickets and they were unable to score runs as the spinners of Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy were causing a lot of trouble for the Bangalore batsmen.

Virat Kohli got out after scoring 39 runs off 33 deliveries which included 5 fours but apart from him none of the Bangalore batsmen contributed much and after 20 overs Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 138/7. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine wreaked havoc among the Bangalore batsmen and he picked 4/21 in his four overs while Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets.
Kolkata Knight Riders started their innings on the right note. Kolkata opener Shubhman Gill scored a quickfire 29 runs off 18 deliveries which included 4 fours while his opening partner Venkatesh Iyer scored 26 runs off 30 deliveries which included 1 six. Kolkata Knight Riders were 48/1 after the end of the powerplay.
After the fall of Shubhman Gill, Rahul Tripathi (6) got out cheaply while Nitish Rana played a good knock of 23 runs off 25 deliveries which included 1 four and 1 six. Sunil Narine was promoted up in the batting order and he completely swung the match towards the Knight Riders. Narine smashed 3 sixes off the first three deliveries that he faced and when he got out after scoring 26 runs off 15 deliveries, Kolkata needed 12 runs off 12 deliveries.
Shakib Al Hasan (9*) and Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan (5*) helped Kolkata Knight Riders to score the remaining runs and helped Kolkata defeat Bangalore by 4 wickets. For Bangalore, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each.
