INDIA: Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been making headlines for quite some time now. However, the reasons this time are due to her troubled personal life. The actor is accused of dating conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who was booked in Rs. 200 crore extortion and money laundering case.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has filed a charge sheet against Jacqueline. The actress appeared before Delhi’s Patiala House Court and made some shocking statements on Sukesh Chandrashekar’s case.
The actor was granted regular bail in the money laundering case on November 15, 2022. Earlier, she sought permission from the central probe agency to travel abroad for her upcoming projects. Now, the actor claims that Chandrashekar played with her emotions and made her life hell.
“Sukesh misled me, ruined my career and livelihood,” she said. The actor recalled how she was introduced to the alleged conman. She said Sukesh was introduced to her as a government official by Pinky Irani. Pinky gained the trust of her makeup artist, Shaan Muthathil, who informed her that Sukesh was an important official from the Home Ministry.
Fernandez added in her statement, “He introduced himself as the owner of Sun TV and claimed J Jayalalitha was his aunt. Chandrashekhar said he was a big fan and said I should do films in South India too, and as the owner of Sun TV, they had many projects lined up. We should try to work together in south Indian movies.”
The actor also described how her video chat session used to end up with Sukesh sitting in one corner with a curtain and a sofa in the background. She was unaware of the fact that he was in jail. She also mentioned that Chandrashekar used to call her three times a day, mainly in the morning before she resumed her shoot, in the middle of the day, and at times at night before she would go to sleep.
The actor counted her last call with Sukesh and said it was on August 8, 2021, and since then, there has been no contact between the two. She said, “I later found out he was arrested for impersonating senior government officials of the Home Ministry and the Law ministry.”
When Jacqueline was asked about using Chandrashekar’s luxurious amenities, she said, “On the two occasions when I met him in Chennai, I traveled in his private jet.”
On the work front, Jacqueline was last seen in the Rohit Shetty directorial ‘Cirkus’ alongside Ranveer Singh and Pooja Hegde.
