INDIA: Sudhir Chaudhary is going to work as a consultant editor for Aaj Tak ten days after he quit Zee News.
Under the direction of news director Supriya Prasad, Chaudhary and Aaj Tak are “collaborating to present to our 100 million viewers an exciting new show anchored by him,” according to an email sent to India Today Group staffers by Kalli Purie.
“I know the mills have been hyperactive and this announcement should give a closure :-). The natural home for a household name in the news is always Aaj Tak!” the email read.
“He has one of the largest following on social media and a galaxy of awards from every reputable organisation. I am glad he has taken a call that will not disappoint his fans who are paramount for him.”
On July 1, Chaudhary announced his resignation as CEO and editor-in-chief of Zee News. He expressed his desire to “establish my own business” in his resignation email to Subhash Chandra, chairman of the Essel Group.
According to the reports, the news agency had been seeking to sideline Chaudhary for a few months, which could have prompted him to quit.
The chief content officer and editor of Zee News, Rajnish Ahuja, who was hired from ABP News in September 2021, and Chaudhary also engaged in a power struggle.
