UNITED STATES: Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 premiered on July 1, 2022, following the jaw-dropping cliffhanger that left fans spellbound. With the release of Volume 2 on Netflix, the streaming behemoth has continued its way breaking the Neilsen streaming record.
The Duffer Brother spotlights on the spin-off series
The duo behind the creation of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, have revealed their concept for a potential spin-off series. They have also highlighted the spin-off’s distinctive setting compared to the main plot. The duo also stated that the upcoming spin-off would be entirely different in an interview with Collider.
The Duffer Brothers deserve praise for developing such endearing characters that fans from any country or culture may identify with. It takes a lot of artistic commitment to maintain the same degree of consistency since the first seasons. With the fourth season, The Duffer Brothers had done it again flawlessly.
During the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, The Duffer Brothers recently stated that the series is “1000 per cent different” from the central Stranger Things storyline, which viewers are familiar. They also claimed that a completely different director would be in charge of the series, which goes along with the fact that the spin-plot off’s premise will differ greatly from that of the original series.
Season 4 breaks the streaming records
Recently, Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 set a new standard for all previous seasons when it premiered on May 27, 2022. Volume 1 had the highest number of hours watched in a weekend premiere for a streaming series, at 286.79 million. Volume 2 breaks its own record, continuing the popularity of season 4 with a dawn premiere that causes Netflix to crash. The enormous opening of volume 2 on a premiere day flooded the streaming behemoth, rendering most of its users inaccessible.
With its debut, Stranger Things, Season 4 Volume 1 received 7.2 billion minutes of viewing time on its premiere week. Stranger Things 4 has set a new Nielsen Streaming record for the most viewing time in a week. According to Nielson, no streaming series has ever surpassed 6 billion viewing minutes in a single week. Stranger Things exceeds all prior records, reaching 7 billion views, which is astounding. Before Stranger Things, only Tiger King and Ozark had reached 5 billion minutes during the pandemic lockdown in the spring of 2020.
