INDIA. Mumbai: An anonymous ‘Whatsapp App’ message is dropped to Mumbai Police traffic control, which states, “There is going to be an attack on Mumbai and it will remind you of the 26/11 attack. If the police try to trace my number, the location will reflect outside of India. 6 people will be executing this blast, and Mumbai city will explode. What if Osama bin Laden, Ajmal Kasab or Ayman al-Zawahiri were killed, there are many more.”
This trepidation raised concern for the Mumbai Police so they brought aid from Intelligence and Central agencies to interrogate the matter. This threat came forth the day after a yacht carrying three AK-47 rifles, ammunition and explosives was seized in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.
The seized items include some sensitive documents along with a life jacket. The exact location is near the Bharan Khol Kinara. Police put the Raigad region on high alert.
The investigation comes out with information that the yacht named Lady Han, carrying eight passengers broke midway and was declared sunk near Oman, on its way from Muscat to Europe on June 26, after facing bad weather at sea. The owner of the yacht is of Australian origin, Hannah Londergan and James Hobert who were rescued by a Korean navy ship.
Earlier, Maharashtra has had the worst experience of terrorist attacks, most of which happened via sea routes. In 1993 and 2008, the terrorist group executed their plan by an uninterrupted entry from the sea site. The entire team of The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) were put into action after the menacing clues fell into place.
On November 26, 2008, about 166 people lost their lives and over 300 were injured in the terror attack on Mumbai. The entire country remembers the Day as a ‘Black Day’, as many innocent lives were lost to terrorism.
