SPAIN: Finally better times are returning for Indian travelers who love vacationing in Europe. Recently the UK govt. moved India from the red to the amber list, meaning Indians can now travel to the UK with a few regulations. Similarly, good news came from Spain too. An Indian Tourist with Covishield vaccination is now allowed to plan exotic vacations on various silvery sand beaches, and dream to taste the delicious cuisine of Spain, and the country’s consular office in New Delhi has started issuing visas across all categories from Monday 2 August 2021.

• Only fully-vaccinated with Covishield (No Covaxin) Indian travelers are eligible to travel to Spain. Children under 12 years of age are exempt from presenting the vaccination certificates or supporting documents.
• The traveler is required to possess a Schengen visa or have applied for a Spanish visa through BLS International, Delhi center that is processing applications at the moment in India.
• If for any circumstance, like flight cancellations or any other reason you are unable to travel during the visa period, you are allowed to change the dates of the trip. The traveler though has to apply fresh for a new sticker that will be issued with no cost from the Embassy.
• The validity of the visa can also be changed. In case the visa period has not started on your passport, you only need to submit the passport and fresh flight reservation (not confirmed tickets). But in case, if the visa period has started, you need to reapply with all documents. For both services, there will be no additional visa fees.
These applications may produce their passport for date change, or fresh application (only for above-stated cases) directly at the Consulate as well, with prior appointments.
