UNITED STATES: After nearly seven years of marriage, Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have announced their decision to divorce.
In a statement provided to PageSix on Monday, the couple confirmed the news, stating, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce.”
“As two individuals who deeply love and care for each other, we kindly request respect for our privacy as we navigate this new chapter in our lives,” their statement read.
According to a source, Sofia Vergara and Manganiello have been gradually growing apart and are now taking some time apart to reflect on their future.
The couple was last seen together last month in Hoboken, N.J., when Sofia Vergara visited Manganiello, 46, on the set of his upcoming project “Nonnas,” which also stars Vince Vaughn.
Sofia Vergara, known for her role in “Modern Family,” and Manganiello tied the knot in 2015 in a lavish wedding ceremony held in Palm Beach, as documented through images shared on Vergara’s Instagram page at the time.
Their love story began in 2014, and after six months of dating, they got engaged and subsequently got married.
Earlier this month, Manganiello posted a photo with Sofia Vergara to celebrate her birthday.
In June, Sofia Vergara shared a throwback picture with Manganiello from their previous vacation in Italy. However, fans have noticed that Manganiello has been absent from recent photos Vergara has shared from her birthday trip to Italy.
On Instagram, some fans have expressed curiosity about Manganiello’s absence, with one comment asking, “Wondering where her husband is, he hasn’t shown up in any of the photos or videos,” while another remarked, “Is anyone else wondering where Joe is?”
Manganiello also raised eyebrows by posting a birthday tribute to Vergara on his own Instagram, simply stating, “¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!” (which means “Happy Birthday Sofía” in Spanish).
