Sobhita Dhulipala Recalls Silent Battle of Racism She Faced During Auditions

INDIA: The regal queen of the fashion fraternity, Sobhita Dhulipala, who is currently turning heads with her versatile roles in recent times, will next be seen in Night Manager’s second season as Anil Kapoor’s girlfriend. Sobhita has raised the bar of excellence with her role as Vanathi in Ponniyin Selvan I and II.

The stunning actress, in an interaction with a media portal, revealed some undisclosed instances of her career when she was in the initial stage.

The actress has been vocal about the unclassified beauty standards of the glamour industry. Sobhita stated that everything is a challenge when you first start out.

Dhulipala stated that throughout her ad tryouts, she was often informed that she was not ‘gori’ (fair) enough. The actress went on to say that there were instances where she was told to her face that she was not pretty enough. She stated that she was not (dejected).

Sobhita went on to say that’s when you start thinking outside the box, rather than waiting for a brilliant successful commercial filmmaker to ‘find’ you. She stated that the only thing she can control is going to auditions and giving her 100 percent.

The model-turned-actress made her debut with Raman Raghav 2.0. Then there was no looking back for her, as she kept adding feathers to her hat with movies like Chef, Moothon, Ghost Stories, Kurup, Major, Ponniyin Selvan: I, Ponniyin Selvan: II, and many others.

However, Sobhita’s stealth performance came into the limelight after her digital release set the record on fire. Some of her popular series are Bard Of Blood, Made In Heaven, and The Night Manager.

Now, her Disney+ Hotstar series Night Manager 2 will release on June 30.
