United Kingdom: Estranged royal couple, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been officially ‘demoted’ in the latest snub since Queen Elizabeth II’s recent demise and her heir, King Charles III’s accession to the throne.
As per the official Royal family website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s profile pages were denigrated to the bottom of the list.
Usually, the website ranks the senior working members of the family at the very top, including King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
They are followed closely by other minor working members of the Royal Family like the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.
In the end on the royal website, is embattled and scandalised Duke of York- Prince Andrew but only one step ahead of him are Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
While the couple were working members of the family, their dedicated pages were listed below Prince William and Kate Middleton’s, who have now assumed the position of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
After stepping down from their duties in January 2020 and retreating from the glaring spotlight of Royal scrutiny to enjoy a calmer life back in the United States, the couple were pushed to sit right below Princess Anne.
The couple spent 11 days in England following the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, whose funeral procession and mourning period took place throughout England for over 10 days.
There is still no update on the condition of the couple’s ties with the Royal Family and whether the situation has improved.
“I think it’s very sad [that] in the days’ Harry was here, there was an opportunity given they were just a couple of hundred yards away from each other for a meeting or dinner or gathering of some sort where they could just try to thrash things out,” The New Royals author Katie Nicholl said.
The couple’s relationship with the senior members of the family eventually became intense after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombarding interview with the famed American anchor Oprah Winfrey in early March 2021.
The controversial interview was Pandora’s box, which exposed several insider secrets of the Royal family, not known to those outside the royal confines, where the couple progressed to refute press and media lies, causing quite the uproar across the globe.
