INDIA: Multi-talented actor Deepika Padukone recently made her cameo appearance in the song Current Laga Re from the film Cirkus, which was released today (December 8, 2022).
The song instantly became the new party anthem, and netizens loved witnessing Deepveer together after a long time. Meanwhile, both Ranveer and Deepika arrived for the song launch, with filmmaker Rohit Shetty interacting with the media.
Deepika Padukone joins Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe
The Bollywood director Rohit Shetty is popular for his action movies, currently prepping for Singham 3.
The director said, “Singham is our upcoming project. Everyone kept asking me who is the female police officer in my universe. So let me confirm now that Deepika Padukone will play Lady Singham, the female police officer in Singham 3. Next year, we’ll start shooting.”
As confirmed by Shetty, Deepika will be seen in an action role. Previously, the actor worked with Rohit Shetty in Chennai Express, which according to Ranveer, is one of her best performances.
Hubby Ranveer is very excited to see Deepika joining hands with Rohit, so he said, “For me, Deepika’s best performance is Meenaamma from Chennai Express. She’s been in a lot of amazing movies, but this one is truly unique. I can’t wait to see Rohit Shetty and Deepika work together on a feature project.”
Rohit Shetty has created a cop universe, including Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. The Singham franchise featured Ajay Devgn in the pivotal role, and fans love him as cop Bajirao Singham.
The third installment of Singham will hit the floors in mid-2023, and the Padmavat actor will be sharing the screen opposite Ajay Devgn. This will also be their first movie together.
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is set to make his OTT debut with his directorial web series, ‘Indian Police Force.’ The upcoming show will serve as an extension of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe into the digital platform.
The series will stream on Amazon Prime Video, and it features Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi in the lead role.
