Amitabh Bachchan announced the huge film collaboration via Instagram, where he posted a short video clip, writing, “Amitabh Bachchan in Section 84. Written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.”
Dasgupta is renowned filmmaker who has earlier worked with Big B in Yudh, an Indian Television thriller miniseries released in 2014, and Te3n, which was released in 2016.
The Uuchai actor quoted the film announcement with, “.. a delight once again to be in the company of distinguished creative minds for this new venture and the challenge it provokes for me ..”
The upcoming film is brought to audiences by Reliance Entertainment in association with Jio Studios. The movie is bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment, Film Hangar, and Saraswati Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
Meanwhile, Sameer Chopra, the VP of Marketing at Reliance Entertainment, talking about the project, said, “We are excited to have Section 84 going. The combination of Amitabh Bachchan’s unrivalled star power and Ribhu’s tremendous storytelling talent would make Section 84 an unforgettable film for viewers everywhere.”
According to the Producer, Vivek B. Agrawal, “It’s a pleasure to have Amitabh Bachchan on board for our upcoming film, and I’m excited to embark on this journey with him and Ribhu in Section 84.”
Talking about the director’s take, he is eternally happy, blessed, and currently optimistic towards the new film. However, the plot of the movie is still under wraps, dripping with a hint of legal action.
On the professional front, Sr Bachchan is busy with his upcoming release Ganapath Part 1 alongside Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff. The pan-Indian movie will get its theatrical release on October 20.
Besides this, he has signed for Nag Ashwin’s film, Project K with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
