RUSSIA : At least four Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defences on Sunday over western Russian territories, the defence military stated.
The defence ministry reported that three drones were shot down over the Belgorod region and one over the Kursk region.
According to the ministry, there were no injuries or property damage as a result of the occurrences.
Since a drone was shot down above the Kremlin in early May, drone air strikes deep inside Russia have risen. Later in May, the city’s civilian districts were attacked, and earlier this month, two separate attacks on a business centre in Moscow were made in the course of three days.
Ukrainian drones were reportedly shot down on Sunday in the Podolsky district on the outskirts of the capital and on Monday near the Kaluga region, as stated by Russian officials. Last week, Russia’s defence ministry announced the downing of seven drones, also in the Kaluga vicinity, which is less than 200km (124 miles) southwest of Moscow.
Lately, Moscow has experienced drone attacks originating from Ukraine. On July 30, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cautioned that Russia could expect acts of “war,” with significant locations and military installations being potential targets.
