INDIA: The most acclaimed directors of Marvel praised SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus. James Gunn, best known for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and 2, as well as DC’s The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker series, lauded the film. Scott Derrickson, the Doctor Strange filmmaker, also appreciated RRR.
RRR continues to rule Hollywood
This isn’t the first time SS Rajamouli’s film has enthralled Hollywood directors. Previously, Jon Spaihts, who wrote Hollywood blockbusters like Dune, Doctor Strange, and Passengers, praised the movie, and the feature also claimed second place at The Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Awards 2022. Aaron Stewart Ahn, a Hollywood director-writer, has also praised the movie and expressed his interest in working with Ram Charan.
The most high-profile filmmakers have now joined the ranks of RRR’s admirers. Scott Derrickson shared his views on RRR via his Twitter handle. The Doctor Strange famed director tweeted, “To celebrate my birthday last night, my wife, kids, and I watched @RRRMovie— what an awesomely outrageous roller coaster of a movie. Loved it.”
Following Scott’s post, a fan quoted James Gunn, adding, “Now you gotta watch this movie.” RRR on Netflix.” James Gunn responded, “I did. Totally dug it.”
Ensemble cast:
RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan as revolutionary Indian freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. The SS Rajamouli-directed film also has Ajay Devgan as Venkata Rama Raju, Ray Stevenson as Governor Scott Buxton, Shriya Saran as Sarojini, Olivia Morris as Jenny, Makarand Deshpande as Peddanna, and Alia Bhatt as Sita.
The Rajamouli film has been loved by fans and critics since its release. The feature also had a sucessful box office run crossing the Rs 1000 crore milestone.
