UNITED STATES: Rockstar Games has officially announced the impending release of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). The announcement comes just hours after rumours began circulating about an upcoming revelation from the renowned game developer.
Company president Sam Houser, in a post on Rockstar’s 25th-anniversary blog, revealed that a trailer for the highly anticipated title is slated for an early December release.
Houser expressed excitement about the prospect of “many more years of sharing these experiences” with the devoted fanbase.
The announcement, delivered in characteristic Rockstar style, featured a minimalist post with zero images and a mere 142 words set against a black background. This bold approach harkens back to the similarly enigmatic reveal of GTA 5 exactly 12 years prior.
Despite a substantial leak last year, numerous details about GTA 6 remain shrouded in mystery. Two main characters, inspired by the infamous “Bonnie and Clyde,” will take centre stage, and the game’s setting is confirmed to be Vice City.
While a tentative 2024 release date has been speculated, many other aspects of the game are still unknown, leaving fans eager for further revelations.
Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has expressed unwavering confidence in the upcoming title. CEO Strauss Zelnick stated earlier this year that GTA 6 aims for nothing short of perfection, promising an experience that will be unprecedented and deeply reflective of the essence of Grand Theft Auto.
As gaming enthusiasts await the release of Take-Two’s second-quarter financial results, some speculate that the timing of Rockstar’s announcement may be linked to potential revelations.
Regardless, the countdown to December is on, promising an eagerly anticipated glimpse into the future of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.
