UNITED STATES: In a move to incentivize developers on its ever-growing platform, Roblox has introduced a remarkable new offer that is set to reshape the landscape of online gaming.

Developers who integrate in-experience subscriptions into their creations before December 15 will be granted a substantial discount on platform fees.

This exciting development is geared towards providing developers with an additional revenue stream while offering subscribers exclusive perks within their favorite games.

In September, Roblox released in-experience subscriptions as a novel avenue for developers to enhance their monetization strategies.

The concept was straightforward: developers gain a new revenue source, Roblox earns a platform fee, and subscribers receive special in-game items and bonuses.

However, the latest announcement from Roblox promises to further sweeten the pot for game creators.

“We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for developers who incorporate subscriptions into their Roblox experiences before December 15, 2023.”

“During this promotional period, developers who establish active subscriptions by the specified date will benefit from a reduced platform fee of 15% on subscriptions, a significant reduction from the standard 30%. This special pricing will be in effect until March 15, 2024,” it added.

This limited-time offer comes with a few important stipulations. The reduced platform fee will remain in effect only until March 15, 2024.

After this date, the platform fee will revert to the standard 30%. Furthermore, the additional revenue generated during this discount period will be disbursed in a single lump sum in April 2024.

Aside from the substantial reduction in platform fees, developers who take advantage of this offer will also enjoy several other benefits.

Their games might be prominently featured on Roblox’s Discover page within a dedicated subscription section, potentially increasing exposure and attracting more users.

Moreover, developers who post images or videos of their subscriptions and tag @Roblox on various social media platforms may have the opportunity to be showcased on Roblox’s official marketing channels.

Developers eager to seize this opportunity should keep in mind that subscriptions will only become active in November after Roblox officially launches this feature. In the interim, existing passes are still in effect, and Roblox has plans to transition these passes to subscriptions once the new feature is live.

One noteworthy aspect is the payment structure: while subscribers will pay in their local currency, developers will be compensated in Robux, Roblox’s in-game currency.

Roblox has clarified that this approach simplifies the process, allowing creators to comprehensively understand monetization across different products without the hassle of currency conversions.
