INDIA. Mumbai: Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami has taken charge as the Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard (ASD), Mumbai, succeeding Rear Admiral KP Arvindan, who recently completed 36 years of commissioned service in the Indian Navy and superannuated.

Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami, an alumnus of Naval College of Engineering, INS Shivaji, Lonavala (Maharashtra), was commissioned into the Indian Navy in November 1988. He holds a B-Tech Degree in Marine Engineering and an M-Tech Degree in Computer Science from IIT Madras. He has also successfully completed courses at the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad (Hyderabad), and National Defence College, Delhi.

Throughout his distinguished career, Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar served in various crucial capacities, including appointments at the Integrated Headquarters (IHQ) of the Ministry of Defence (Navy) in New Delhi, Command Headquarters, Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, and Naval Ship Repair Yard.

He gained valuable experience serving onboard Guided Missile Frigates Godavari, Gomati, and Beas. Additionally, he held staff appointments at the Directorate of Information Technology and the Directorate of Personnel. Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar also served as Manager and Deputy General Manager in Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, as Command Engineer Officer at Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command, and as Command Refit Officer at Headquarters, Western Naval Command. Furthermore, he served as Commodore Superintendent of Yard at Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair.

His expertise led him to be appointed as Directing Staff at CDM upon completing the Higher Defence Management Course. On attaining the Flag rank, Rear Admiral Deepak Kumar Goswami assumed the position of Admiral Superintendent, at Naval Ship Repair Yard, Karwar on March 19, 2021. With his wealth of experience and distinguished service, he takes on the crucial role of Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.
