INDIA: Ranveer Singh is reportedly in talks to play our desi superhero, Shaktimaan. Following the report, Ranveer may bring the live-action adaptation of the beloved superhero to theatres.

According to the reports, Shaktimaan’s role has been given to Ranveer, who has expressed a strong interest in portraying it. He hasn’t, however, signed the movie contract just yet.

Recently, Ranveer Singh turned 37. If the reports are accurate, what could be a better birthday treat than the well-known actor portraying the role of Shaktimaan. The successful phase of the outstanding Bollywood actor’s career began with his Band Baja Barat debut in 2010. After more than ten years in the workforce in the entertainment business, the actor has emerged as one of the most promising talents in recent years.

Shaktimaan was an Indian action superhero TV show that ran on DD national from 1997 to 2005 and was developed by Mukesh Khanna and Dinker Jani. That captivated the craze of the younger generation at the time; mainly, it was a widely celebrated phenomenon among the 90s kids.

Sony Pictures India made the announcement

Earlier in February, Sony Pictures India announced that our desi superhero would be adapted for the big screen, which marks a dream come true moment for the Indian superhero community. The studio also announced that a trilogy would be released in theatres. Sony Pictures International has also acquired the character’s film adaptation rights.

Following the announcement, a teaser was launched on Bheeshm International and Sony Pictures India’s YouTube channels. The entire teaser was entitled “Peoples Hero,” emphasising the Indian superhero’s widespread popularity.

The Movie will stick to its originality by maintaining the modern vibes. Mukesh Khanna’s Bheeshm International is also involved in the project confirming that Shaktimaan will stay true to its source material. The film is also attributed to Brewing Thoughts Pvt. Ltd.

Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, in which Ranveer Singh co-stars with Alia Bhatt, is a significant addition to his repertoire. He is also poised to command a dual part in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus.
