INDIA: Congratulations pour in for Bollywood lovers Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who welcomed their first child, a sweet baby girl, today at the HN Reliance hospital in Mumbai, India. The young parents are ecstatic as the Kapoor family, who is overjoyed by the entry of this adorable bundle of joy.
Ranbir and Alia arrived at the hospital in the early hours of the morning, accompanied by family members like Neetu Kapoor, Soni Razdan and Shaheen Bhatt. Grandparents Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan and Neetu Kapoor, are overwhelmed with joy and happiness with the news.
Grandpa Mahesh Bhatt spoke to the media and could not contain his excitement at the thought of welcoming his first grandchild. “Waiting for a new sun to rise. A fresh sparkling dew drop of life,” he had said.
Earlier, when daughter Alia Bhatt had announced her pregnancy, grandpa Mahesh Bhatt coddled her saying, “Oh, my baby is having a baby! I am overjoyed for Ranbir and Alia. May our ‘tribe’ grow. Now, I must prepare for the most crucial duty of my life: Grandfather. This is going to be a spectacular debut.”
Following their grand and lavish marriage ceremony back in April, Ranbir and Alia had been in full baby-prepping mode. Alia even posted a picture of her ultrasound appointment with hubby Ranbir to announce the happy news.
As the young parents delved deeper into the whole process, Ranbir reportedly said that the couple had once fought over a book Alia had read and wanted him to read as well. Speaking to the media, he said he had disagreed with Alia over reading pregnancy or child-rearing books and had told her, “Listen, books aren’t going to teach us how to raise our children; let us learn by doing.”
As the B-Town group of babies get larger day by day, so do the responsibilities of new parents and grandparents. Not to forget that grandmoms Soni Razdan and Neetu Kapoor almost broke into a dance mode after the baby arrived. The industry cliques are now giving the family some time and space so that they may rejoice in privacy.
