INDIA: Rishab Shetty’s divine film, Kantara is now the latest gem from the Kannada film industry. The makers of KGF have delivered another Pan-Indian blockbuster. The mystical-action film has bagged high praises from critics as well as the audience.
Now, prominent celebrities have also praised Kantara for its unique concept and divine theme. Among such personalities is the Superstar Rajinikant. The Tamil actor penned a message on Twitter applauding Rishab Shetty’s creative vision and acting skills.
Rajinikanth penned a delightful tweet applauding Kantara
The Tamil superstar tweeted, “The unknown is more than the known” no one could have said this better in cinema than @hombalefilms #KantaraMovie you gave me goosebumps @shetty_rishab. Rishab hats off to you as a writer, director, and actor. Congrats to the whole cast and crew of this masterpiece in Indian cinema.’’
Rishab Shetty responded to the tweet with a delightful message. The Kannada star tweeted, ‘’Dear @rajinikanth sir you are the biggest Superstar in India and I have been your fan since childhood. Your appreciation is my Dream come true. You inspire me to do more local stories and inspire our audiences everywhere. Thank you, sir.’’
Earlier, National Awardee filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also posted a video on Twitter applauding Kantara. The Kashmir Files director tweeted, ‘’Just finished watching @shetty_rishab’s masterpiece #Kantara. In one word it’s just WOW! Amazing experience. Watch it as soon as possible.’’
Vivek Agnihotri shared a clip in which he is seen praising the film. The filmmaker added that Kantara is ‘’full of art and folklore, it is so rooted.’’ He also applauded Rishab Shetty’s performance in the climax and also recommended the public to watch the film.
Kantara created a tsunami at the box office
Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara opened to theatres on September 30, 2022 and since then it has created a tsunami at the box office. The mystical-action film is on a record-breaking spree collecting huge numbers. According to multiple box office stats, the Kannada movie has bagged approximately ₹ 111 crores in Karnataka alone.
Film critic and industry analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ‘’#Kantara #Hindi version withstands the opposition posed by new releases [#RamSetu, #ThankGod, #BlackAdam], biz sees an upward trend on #Diwali… [Week 2] Fri 2.05 cr, Sat 2.55 cr, Sun 2.65 cr, Mon 1.90 cr, Tue 2.35 cr. According to the tweet, the Hindi version of the film collected ₹ 26.50 crores on its 12th day that too while facing big names such as Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God. The mystical-action Kannada feature now has approximately a total collection of ₹ 192.70 crores.
