S Shankar’s directorial vision in Sivaji explores the aftermath of corruption in India. To woo off the menacing politicians and corrupt officials lurking in the system, Shankar puts Rajinikanth at the forefront. The Tamil Superstar elevates the screen presence to the next level as a rich software engineer.

The actioner feature also stars Shriya Saran in the lead role. Despite the film’s debut dating back to a decade ago it continues to rule the audiences as well as critics. No matter how many times we watch it, the volume of action and comic elements still hits us the same way as when we watch it for the first time.

S Shankar’s another innovative feature with a dose of a creative touch spawned the Robot film franchise. The film series easily lands on the top spot of our list. Though the film series itself need a dedicated explanation, especially focusing on its philosophy.

This time, the visionary director brought his concept to life on the big screen, starring Rajinikanth as a scientist and a superhuman-powered robot.

The electrified fusion of Shankar’s breakthrough vision in Tamil Cinema and Superstar’s top-notch performance with the magic of Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan provided an action-packed sci-fi rollercoaster.

Following the first installment, Shankar returned with Rajinikanth in 2018, for the highly anticipated sequel. This time the filmmaker took his directing skill to next level by shooting the film entirely with 3D technology. Thus, becoming the first Indian film to be shot in 3D.

The presence of Akshay Kumar in the sequel provided a powerful yet believable antagonist. Khiladi Kumar’s Tamil debut as the iconic Pakshi Rajan in the sci-fi feature left a huge impression on viewers. For smartphone addicts, the character in particular is a nightmare.
