INDIA: Rajasthan Royals defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs in the 4th match of IPL 2023 played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first; however, this decision turned out to be a costly decision for them as Rajasthan Royals started their innings explosively, scoring 85 runs in the power play.

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal were the architects of this blistering start, with Buttler scoring 54 in just 22 balls and Jaiswal scoring 54 in 37 balls.

The momentum was then continued by skipper Sanju Samson, who scored a quickfire 52 runs in just 32 balls. RR finished their innings with a massive total of 203/5 in 20 overs.

In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a disastrous start, losing their first two wickets without even scoring a run. Trent Boult was the man responsible for this early damage, removing Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi in the very first over.

Sunrisers Hyderabad never really recovered from this early setback and lost another three wickets quickly, making them 48-5. In the end, they could only manage a total of 131/8, with Abdul Samad being the highest scorer with 32 runs.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals, taking 4 wickets, while Boult also chipped in with 2 wickets.

Overall, it was a dominating performance from Rajasthan Royals, who won the match by 72 runs. It is a great start from Rajasthan Royals as they are trying to take the title for the second time. They will take a lot of confidence from this victory, while Sunrisers Hyderabad will need to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
