UNITED STATES: At Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, the renowned chipmaker introduced its cutting-edge mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, poised to revolutionize the smartphone landscape.

Esteemed manufacturers including Asus, Honor, Oppo, OnePlus, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi, ZTE, and more are set to harness the power of this flagship platform.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 boasts a formidable CPU lineup: a ‘Prime’ core reaching speeds of up to 3.3GHz, five high-performance cores maxing out at 3.2GHz, and two efficiency cores operating up to 2.3GHz.

The Adreno GPU stands out with real-time hardware-accelerated ray tracing featuring global illumination. Additionally, it introduces Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2.0 and HDR Gaming with an impressive 10-bit color depth.

This formidable platform opens the door to innovative content creation and intelligent responses through text, voice, and image inputs. It seamlessly supports multi-modal generative AI models, including an AI assistant based on Meta Llama 2.

The Qualcomm Sensing Hub, leveraging user data like favourite activities, fitness levels, and location, enhances the AI assistant’s responses with a personalized touch.

Qualcomm places a strong emphasis on the AI-powered camera capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Users can expect a video object eraser by Arcsoft for the effortless removal of unwanted elements in video captures.

Moreover, the processor enables the operation of two always-sensing cameras, both front and back, facilitating quick QR code scanning and face unlocking.

A standout feature is ‘Zoom Anyplace,’ powered by Samsung’s 200-megapixel image sensor tailored for Snapdragon, enabling the capture of multiple videos, object tracking, and 2x and 4x zoom in 4K. This innovation is likely to find its way into the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

Additionally, it provides the capability to upscale game scenes to 8K on external displays with Snapdragon Game Super Resolution.

Music aficionados will revel in the support for 24-bit 96kHz lossless music over Bluetooth wireless technology, thanks to the new Qualcomm Expanded Personal Area Network Technology (XPAN), ensuring uninterrupted lossless audio.

Lastly, Qualcomm touts the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as the world’s first 5G modem with integrated AI sensor tensor hardware, promising superior speeds, coverage, mobility, and location accuracy.
