INDIA. Punjab. Amritsar: Popular Punjab singer Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead during an exchange of fire in Hoshiar Nagar village, Mansa district ( Punjab ) on May 29. In connection with his murder, Punjab police had caught the two murderers named Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kusa and Jagroop Singh Roopa.
They went missing after the mishap due to which a search operation was started. Both of the accused were ‘sharpshooters’.
According to the ADGP Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Pramod Ban: both the gangsters were killed in an encounter. An AK-47, pistol accompanied by heavy ammunition was recovered from the spot.
CCTV footage went viral, showing both the accused riding bikes at Samalsar in the Moga district. According to police, the culprits were planning to cross the border to Pakistan. During the crossfire, two civilians were also injured.
Four gangsters were killed in the encounter. The search operation is continuing in Haveli, finding if someone is hiding.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said, “We were keeping track of the accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and our task force saw some movement in this area. We acted upon it. Our forensic team is on the spot for further investigation.”
“A heavy exchange of fire took place today, 2 gangsters involved in the Sidhu Moose Wala case namely Jagroop Singh Roopa & Manpreet Singh killed. We have recovered an AK47 & a pistol. 3 police officials have also suffered minor injuries,” he added.
Apart from being a global ‘youth sensation’, Moose Wala had fought assembly elections on a Congress ticket against AAP leader Vijay Singla, resulting in a huge defeat. He was knocked down a day after the state government diminished his security. Be it a song or a statement, Sidhu was always a part of some controversy. The singer was her only child and his sudden demise is unbearable to his parents.
