INDIA: Global star Priyanka Chopra made everyone heartfelt as she recalled her daughter’s premature birth. Last year the star couple Nick Jonas and Priyanka welcomed Malti Marie Chopra Jonas via surrogacy in January 2022.
However, the couple went through a whirlwind of emotions as their child spent 100 days in the NICU before they could finally bring her home. Being new parents, their world felt shattered when they saw their child in such a situation.
Priyanka Chopra in a recent interview with the media, said, “She has me wrapped around her little finger. I’m not sure how I’ll ever discipline her since I simply don’t have it in me.
“She can get away with anything since I came so close to losing her so many times, and all I want is to see her happy. Her happiness is what I want most. All I want is to see her joyful, and she is a really cheerful, smiling baby. Her smile brightens my world every time, and that’s all I want to do,” Priyanka added.
Recalling the most traumatic experience, the actress said, “You can see your child’s heartbeat (on the monitor), so you know he or she is alive. I couldn’t sleep for days since she had returned home without a monitor. I used to place my ear against her chest. I would wake up every couple of minutes to check on her. This carried on for weeks.”
In the toughest of times, Priyanka admits how Nick became a doting husband and a caring father. The actress recalled the days saying, “I distinctly recall him simply holding my shoulders while I pleaded with him to direct me because I was at a loss for words. ‘Simply get in the car with me,’ he said.”
“We then took a car to the hospital. She was born, and ever since she breathed her first breath till today, she has always had one of us by her sides,” she concluded.
