UNITED KINGDOM: The most recent trailer for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix documentary includes his brother’s intriguing assertion about the Prince of Wales.
Harry says, “They were happy to lie to protect my brother,” in a 90-second teaser made available on Monday. “They were never willing to tell the truth, to protect us,” he added.
It’s unclear who Harry is referring to when he makes his allegations about Prince William. Still, it’s likely that his remarks are about top members of the royal family and their advisers.
In addition, Harry utters the phrase “to see this institutional gaslighting” when the video of newspaper presses in action is displayed.
“I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being consumed by wolves,” Meghan said.
The remarks come from Harry and Meghan volume 2, the last three episodes of the docuseries, which will be available on Netflix on December 15th.
In the trailer, the couple’s wedding images are shown amid news clips and articles about them. On the screen, there are further pictures of a man with his face blurred, a flying plane, Harry recording a video on his phone, and people making newspapers. “It gave us a chance to create that home we always wanted,” Meghan explains.
The couple has drawn criticism for appearing to criticize British institutions while talking about their experiences, including racism, throughout the series.
Harry says at the end of the trailer, which also includes images and video of the couple in their California home and with their children, “I have always felt as though this was a fight worth fighting for.”
The first three episodes mostly spared Buckingham Palace, but the previews for the following three episodes allude to an attack on the family, known as The Firm by the late Princess of Wales Diana.
Meghan is heard saying, “This is when a family and a family business are in direct conflict,” in a previously released one-minute film.
Thus far, the couple concentrated on the early stages of their relationship and directed their ire at the media, with Meghan alleging that the media were out to destroy her. Harry did accuse his family of unconscious racial bias and of failing to shield Meghan from racially charged reporting, but so far, they have focused on those events.
The couple’s departure from the UK is anticipated to be covered in the concluding episodes.
