INDIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the southern state of Karnataka on Saturday to open the much-anticipated Whitefield to KR Puram metro line in Bengaluru and the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Chikkaballapura.
According to the most recent updates, the 13.71 km stretch has a total of 12 stations, each with six metro stations; the names of the metro stations have been modified as follows: KR Puram station changed to Krishnarajapura (KR Pura); Mahadevapura reframed as Singayyappanapalya; Hoodi Junction’s new name is Hoodi; Kadugodi metro station will be known as Kadugodi Tree Park.
Apart from this, Channasandra got a new name. It is now known as Hopefarm Channasandra, and Whitefield was renamed Whitefield (Kadugodi). The Puram-Whitefield claimed to aim for a travelling time of 24 minutes, cutting off the long journey hours.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, PM Modi wrote on Friday, “I will be in Karnataka tomorrow, March 25. The Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research will be inaugurated in Chikkaballapur.”
Following that, he will be in Bengaluru to inaugurate the Bangalore Metro’s Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura Metro Line.
The Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research will also be opened at the same time. According to the PMO, the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute for Human Excellence has been established by Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, and the institute will provide free medical education and quality medical care. The entire cost would be borne by the government.
However, the left-wing party targeted the Modi government for inaugurating the metro before the date the Election Commission is expected to announce. Moreover, the Karnataka poll is extended to start by May in the next few days.
