ITALY: The Prada Group has appointed Silvia Onofri as the new CEO of the Italian fashion brand Miu Miu, as confirmed to FashionUnited on Thursday. Onofri will assume her new role on February 26, succeeding Benedetta Petruzzo, who moved to Christian Dior Couture in October.
Onofri brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having started her career at luxury jewelry brand Bulgari before joining Swiss luxury brand Bally in 2008. Over the years, she rose through the ranks at Bally, ultimately becoming CEO for the regions of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in July 2018. She also oversaw Bally’s global wholesale business. In 2023, she took on the role of Chairwoman at Napapijri.

Academically, Onofri holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of La Sapienza in Rome and has also studied at the London School of Economics and the University of Greenwich.
A Strong Appointment Amidst Miu Miu’s Success
Despite challenging global market conditions, the Prada Group continues to experience significant growth, particularly within Miu Miu. The brand’s net revenue surged by an impressive 105 percent in the third quarter of 2024, now accounting for 25 percent of the Prada Group’s total revenue. Miu Miu also remains the top-ranking brand in the latest Lyst Index.

The Prada Group’s decision to appoint Onofri as CEO comes as part of its strategy to sustain Miu Miu’s upward trajectory.
