INDIA: Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Himachal Pradesh, Bilaspur. The hospital is constructed under the Central sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
According to the official statement, PM Modi will hold a public rally during the special occasion and will make his presence in the renowned 350-year-old Kullu Dussehra celebration.
Modi will inaugurate the hospital at 11:30 PM, after which he will proceed to Luhnu Ground of Bilaspur to attend the rally at around 12:45 PM. The AIIMS hospital aims to fulfil Modi’s vision and mission to strengthen health services across the country.
The high-budget hospital is made with an investment of Rs 1470 cr and is known to be a state-of-the-art hospital. It is built within 247 acres, which has also set up the Centre for Digital Health to provide healthcare facilities to the tribal and inaccessible areas of Himachal Pradesh like Kaza, Saluni, and Keylong.
The hospital will have 18 speciality and 17 super-speciality departments and 18 modular operation theatres alongside 750 beds, including 64 Incentive care Unit (ICU) beds.
The historic event will be witnessed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national chief JP Nadda, alongside Modi. On the other hand, strong political heads like Himachal chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, Union minister Anurag Thakur, and the party’s state chief Suresh Kashyap will be a part of the event. Over 300 local people will join the crowd.
Meanwhile, Modi will also lay the foundation stone for a 31-km-long project for four lane NH-105 from Pinjore to Nalagarh. The project costs over ₹1,690 crores.
Memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for over 800 crores have already been signed for the establishment of industries in this medical device park, which is a significant change.
